About Me

I’m an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist based in Whitchurch, Hampshire, less than 10 miles from Basingstoke, Andover, Newbury and Winchester.

I’m a senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a full clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy which means that I’m bound by and work within each of their Ethical Frameworks.

I have regular supervision with UKCP-registered, senior supervisors. I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as part of the Data Protection Act and a registered practitioner with Bupa and AXA Health private healthcare providers.

How I Can Help

You can use sessions to offload, for support with an issue in your life now or to explore more long standing struggles. I have experience of working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity, sex, mid-life, life changes, loneliness, relationships, loss, separation and bereavement.

I offer an initial free assessment session. I believe it’s important for you to get a good idea of me and how I work as much as for me to hear your story before you decide to invest into our work together.

How I Work

My original counselling training was in Humanistic Counselling with Transactional Analysis. This can be seen as recognising personal growth potential and to offer a non-judgmental environment to explore how our early history can influence the decisions we make and the relationships we form.

My later counselling training in Reflective Therapeutic Practice built on my growing client experience. Exploring and building on the importance of the relationship between the client and the therapist.

My recent Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapy training expanded on this by working creatively with that relationship. Linking intuition and imagination with thinking and feeling in the space created between us. Perhaps even to explore the therapeutic relationship itself which in turn could help you understand yourself and how you are with others.

This way of working can provide a more soulful, less clinical perspective. For example to mental health diagnosis, giving voice instead to your experience of life; working not so much with ‘what’s wrong with you?’ more with ‘what’s happened to you?’
